which ones and whats the difference? 🙂 bought some second hand, supposed to be 1 month old. they are imaculate but a quick spin round the close and they aint stopping like the ought to. dont seem as sharp as the avid juicy 5s that they replaced. do they just need wearing in or should i try new pads? anyone else use these brakes? they cost a lot so ide like to think theyre gonna be good!
It's possible that the previous owner sanded the pads to make them look clean, in which case you're going to have to bed them in again. It's also possible that they're not installed properly - check the videos on Hope's site and follow them to the word. Can you be sure that they don't need bleeding? Hopes have a much softer feel to Avids, which tend to be hard at the bite point and vague from then on. Hopes have a more servo-like feel to them and shouldn't be at all on/off. If you can't get the X2 to perform better than a Juicy 3 then it goes without saying that something is not right...
hope brakes are often not as sharp as others, and yes, they'll need bedded in properly.
