Any good? Interested in power vs XT M785 and the Tech 3 E4's I am running at the moment (want to replace the XTs). Ignoring the whole Shimano value vs Hope expense that these topics normally break down into, my hands are buggered and the Tech 3 levers are just "right" for me so want to stick with them but this will be on the Solaris not the FS hence wondering about the X2.

Have a pair of E4's on my Reign and X2's on my Trance. The X2's are perfectly capable for XC/trail riding (I am on 180/160 rotors) with more than enough power (with modulation, unlike XT's!)

I have X2 on one bike, E4 on another and older XT (not sure what number, probably from about 2010) on yet another. I don't think the E4 caliper actually has a great deal more power than the X2, a step up for sure but not night and day different. The X2s are comparable to my older XT and all are good by my reckoning. I use 180mm disks and the race lever rather than tech as I don't need all the knobs so chose to save weight. I'm intending to swap the calipers around so I have two bikes with E4 front and X2 rear but haven't got around to it yet.

Edit to add, Hope brakes do come at a bit of a premium but that is your call ๐Ÿ™‚
