should there be a spacer between the cassette and freehub body on a pro4 hub ?

at the back of the largest sprocket ?

On mine you need one unless you're running an 11 speed road cassette (no idea about 12 speed).

is the spacer alloy ?

Road cassette = no spacer.

Any MTB cassette = YES spacer

Edit - wrote that the wrong way round at first, sneaky edit.

If you don't have the spacer that they're supposed to supply with the HG freehub then a bottom bracket spacer does the trick.

@ton, Yes, I've got a spacer on my 10 speed deore cassette on a hope pro 4 hub. I think it's Ali.
