Not a regular poster on here, but a regular browser.
Ordered my first pair of Hope Hubs online last week, the front turned up all ok, but the rear turned up today and appears to be missing a QR end-cap, as I can physically see the bearing on the drive-side.
Photo's to describe
Non-drive side.
Drive side.
Is this normal, or should I get onto the retailer tomorrow morning?
Thanks, Ben
This is normal, don't worry. Nice hubs, enjoy.
Cassette lock nut will fill the void.
^^^^^ What they said, mine looks exactly the same.
Anyone know how this is supposed to be an improvement over the original Pro2 which did have end caps that covered the bearings?
The difference is the internal diameter of the bearings, I run pro2 (not evo) 142X12 and the wall of the hollow axle is wafer thin.
Evo has different stronger axle with 2mm bigger external diameter and to swop rear to different standards you just swop end caps same as with front rather than having to strip whole axle out like on original pro 2
Bearings in Evo are also improved (stainless) I think
Pro 2 end caps won't fit an Evo, and vise versa

Sorry, I wasnt doubting the improved axle versatility, but want to know the reason why the QR end caps no longer shroud the bearings?
