Thoughts on the best approach to convert my XD to SS... Am I best off sourcing a Shimano freehub and conversion kit or is the Gusset Xd1-er worth a punt? Gusset kit only comes with 16t cog and I need a 20/21 so would need to factor that in.

Hopes, Shimano, freehub is £80 (plus the cost of a conversion kit) the gusset kit is 30 plus a new cog. Not tried it but I’d be giving it a go first.

The freehub is not £80, even for pro4 one is only around £60. You can normally get one SH for £30, sometimes less if its got lots of sprocket dents (which would be irrelevant for SS with a wide base cog).

Thanks. Prices aren't quite so favourable in Oz unfortunately. But I'm interested to know if costs aside there's any difference too. Is the Gusset kit good?
