The time has come to replace the headset on my Pitch and I rather fancy a Hope in Red, are they any better than the S8 or Vice Versa?
I had one of the older Hopes and never really got on with it. It came loose very frequently and it was always really difficult to get the fork off for servicing. The new Hope might be better, I don't know.
I have 3 Cane Creeks and they're all perfect. They just do their job with no bother.
How about the CC Solo. Coloured, good seals, 10yr warranty. Been running mine for two years with no issues. Search on ebay will find £45 ish from Hong Kong.

S8 can be had for about £20 so I'd go with that, the hope ones are nice but O ring seal on crown race can be fiddly and the wedge at inside the top cap can be a bit hard to get out sometimes.
You'll do well to get a proper S8 with stainless steel bearings for 20 quid, better off with an FSA XLII for that sort of money.
