Ok got a set of Hope Mono Mini's which were going to be for a friend but thinking of keeping them myself now! Anyway Ive got a 203mm rotor on the front and a 185mm rotor on the back both into IS mount. I have had a look and you can get a +40mm adaptor.
For the front do these work with the 203mm rotors or only 200mm rotor?
On the rear for a 185 disc will I need a plus 20 or a plus 40 adaptor?
Cheers
203/185 what?
MM's used to come in 140, 160, 180
MM4's usd to come in 160, 180, 200
whats the 203 about?
I run MM's (phase 1) on MM4 (phase 1) rotors, so 200mm & 180mm respectively on +20mm adapters. works fine, though the contact point on the disc is reduced on the internal side, so part of the actual radial spokes then become part of the braking surface. Only difference is it makes a purring noise instead of just a metal on metal noise.
I have upgraded mine. I have put an M4 on the front with a 203 rotor and kept the MM on the rear and put a 183 on it. You will need Hope adaptor B on both brakes.
203mm's are intended for post mount use(as are 183mm), you may just get away with it, some are lucky, others aren't. If you've got a 185 mm rotor, that would be for original minis, and brakes prior to those, you'll be very if you've got clearance for those.(not sure which rotors you have, but in the past I ground the outer edge off one with a deep braking surface to keep myself mobile until I could get the correct one.)
Sorry not hope rotors - Shimano ones!
