Popping Fork off my Soul to go to TF Tuned. LBS replaced crappy Cane Creek 40 a few months ago with a Hope one. Haven't had a Hope before, is the top bearing just a click in pull out vertically one ? Seems needs a big force/pull and don't want to do that if not right. Doesn't actually need to come out as nice and smooth, but would normally pop it out and clean off and regrease the cup/cartridge bearing interface.

Yes, it just pulls out straight up.
