Just how bad does a deore cassette damage a hope freehub ive just fitted a deore but is it worth picking up an xt or doesn't it make much difference. My last hope freehub was a lovely ti one that was like new when i sold it ๐Ÿ™

It'll chew it up pretty badly. I've got a 7 year old pro2 that's still in vgc as I always use xt/xtr.

Even XT/XTR dig in on the smallest sprockets. I just get on with it and file the burrs down when I remove the cassette. The individual sprockets are still riveted together, it's not like they're really moving independently.

IMO people worry too much about this. Steel freehub will solve it, and weigh about 3kg, your call.

Cheers yeah steel would add weight and xt would remove it. The ti one on my xc hub felt light. Shame they dont do those

I'm sure they'd make a killing if they made retrofit ti freehubs.
