I've got a mystery XD freehub body that I'm trying to identify. Thanks to an eagle-eyed potential buyer, I now know it's a Hope freehub. However, I now need to know if it's a Pro 2 Evo or Pro 4 freehub, and apparently the only difference is the diameter at the pawl end. Does anyone have a known unit handy that they could measure for me? It would save me taking apart my main mountain bike...
Thanks in advance!
Does the spare have bearings fitted?
What does it say on the pawl/spring end bearing?
Pro 2Evo - 6803
Pro 4 - 17287
Got a pro2 evo freehub siting on a table next to me and measures 38.06mm across the widest bit at the pawls end, using a cheap not to be wholly trusted digital caliper.
Pro2 freehubs are smooth across the inner end. Pro4's have slight raised lip around the bearing recess.
Thanks for all the info - shouldn't be a problem to work it out once I get back home.
Out of interest - is there any chance it's a Pro 2 (non-Evo) XD freehub body, and if so, how would I know?
I think Pro 2 were Gold and Pro 2 Evo and Pro 4 Silver
Don't think there was a non Evo XD freehub.
There is, but rare AF.
So, the Hope XD freehub that I have has a hub-side bearing that says "MR 17287 LLB", is 41mm across the widest part near the pawls, has a lip around the bearing recess, and is silver.
Pretty conclusively for a Pro 4 - thanks for all the info!
Now, does anyone need a Hope Pro 4 XD Freehub body that is missing the main seal??
How much you after?
Isn’t the easiest way to tell the difference that pro 2/evo has three bearings and pro 4 has 2? Or have I got that wrong?
Edit- other than the colour
