Thinking of doing this at Lee Quarry on the 14th. Has anyone done any of the previous 3? Despite GOOGLE-ING I can't seem to find out how long the course is?

Any comments appreciated.

It's great you should try it. Bit more technical/less mud than your average XC race I would say.

Course distance is difficult to say as it changes every time, but typically 5-7 laps in 1hr 45 mins-ish, depending on how fast you are.

Good vibe and prizes.

Cheap to enter.

Yeah, I've done all the previous 3. As above, I'd say depending on how good/what category you enter you will be racing for 1 hour to 1hr 45. Have a look at previous results here: http://www.brownbacksracing.co.uk/race_series/2012/results.html
It's the last one of the series so should be good. Come and have a go, it's good crack!

yes, please, come along and race!

we never use the exact same course more than once so with regard to course/lap length, we can't tell you (especially since we won't know ourselves until about a week before when we decide on the routes) but as the gents above have said, expect to be racing for about 1.5 to 1.75 hours.
and stick around at the end regardless of how you think you've done, because there'll be loads of prizes since it's the last race of the series and we'll probably have lots of stuff from our sponsors left over to dish out...

Sounds good, I will sign up!

Mr Sparkle, is this you

??

I'm going for the weekend warrior, as although it will be my first XC event I think I'm reasonably fit. I take it SPDs would be preferable for this soort of XC course?

Thanks,

They are great races. I've missed most this year for one reason or another, but the 14th is well and truly engrained in the diary - really looking forward to it.

Lots of different categories, so should be able to find one for whatever 'level' you are at.

Brilliant courses - so much fun, and good for spectators with easily accessible multiple viewing points.

whatever you feel the most comfortable with, to be honest. are you familiar with the quarry itself?
