Anyone else found the replacement seals are somewhat larger than the ones they're replacing? I'm quite used to doing car caliper seals but this one has me stumped as it's so small a gap it's almost like the seals are the wrong size:

The ID is the same but the OD is MILES different and the section doesn't seem to want to fit in the caliper groove at all, so it just refuses to stop being a figure of 8 in the bottom of the caliper cyl.
ARGHHHHHH
Damnit I need to get out on the bike.....
Are you sure you have the correct kit? Dh4 and e4 are different from m4 seals.
It was a DH4 caliper when I bought it new so unless i was sent an incorrectly labelled one then! No measurements to check against.
I've been using dh4 and e4 since the first version. The only change I've ever seen is that the original seals were white. There's been no dimensional change. Maybe they are m4 seals they sent.
The one on the left doesn't look like an e4/dh4 seal. Looks far too big as you have suspected.
fudging wiggle again, lost one set and now the second one is mis-labelled. Im going to go fing postal, theres no sodding quality control with anyone any more, what the hell happened to doing your job properly?
In the interests of fairness - having spoken to Hope on the phone it seems that I've got an E4 caliper despite having a receipt for a DH4 brake (bought new). ๐ณ Correct seals ordered, wrong ones returned...
Don't want to rock the boat or poo on your corn flakes but the endure 4 and dh4 were the same in terms of seals. The m4 was different as it had different sized piston in the one caliper.
DH4 were quite long from what I remember but the E4s I'm sure say E4 on them? Pretty sure they were the same piston sizes too though. Hopefully the next batch will be right though...
E4 doesn't have anything on it other than the caliper size. Although the pistons were the same size and the same location, the whole caliper on the E4 was slimmed down. One of the give aways was that the DH4 pad retaining system was a split pin through a plain hole while on the E4, it was a threaded pin. Not that it makes any difference as the pads, seals and pistons were common between the DH4 and E4.
What was the outcome? I'm curious as I saw two sets of seals the other day in a shop. The thicker ones were DH4 and the thinner ones were E4. Did you work out what you had and what you need?
