Hello. looking for some holiday ideas for the fam this summer.
when i say fam, thats basically 3 women who wanna lay by the pool all day, and me who wants to ride his bike. i dont actually mind lazing by the pool either but i like to get out for a couple of days riding, or a couple of hours every morning...
last few years we have gone to Madeira. that has worked great but i fancy something a bit more flexible as in that i dont have to pre-book a guide company for the day...
terrified of the Alps. i love them dont get me wrong, ive been many times in summer (and winter) and ive largely had great weather - but there have also been a couple of trips where it rained, biblically, every day! mrs and kids would lynch me.
did Mijas in spain once that worked quite well, just disappeared off for a few laps early doors and was back mid morning for breakfast...
So im after something like that really. I really think Finale' would fit the bill, but the choice of accommodation there is terrible. non of them (currently available) even have air con!
so, please, ideas gratefully received.
forgot to mention, this is strictly MTB.
Somewhere between Scarborough and Dalby? Or does it have to be warm by the pool?

Southern Germany / edge of the Alps seems to have a balance of hot enough in the season yet riding nearby.
We also went to northern Span - Basque MTB and that was hot enough with great riding and walking.
3 posts and no one's suggested Morzine yet.
I'm surprised you're struggling to find something suitable in Finale. Have you tried the other towns, especially Borgio or Pietra (assuming that still works for you as far as the riding goes).
There's a few days riding around Soller in Mallorca, that could work for you.

somewhere around Pollença in Mallorca, nice spot, plenty of villas with pools, lots of riding options including off road 🙂
I did a similar trip to Costa Adeje with my outlaws. Managed to book in some decent riding with a local guiding company (including uplift). Also have been many times over the past 21 years with Switch-backs.com in Bubion. There are pools but no beach there. Riding is great though!
