remember the Winter Sprinter?
It was ace wasn't it.
until the last final lap when i came off and lost my 3rd place spot to some kid on a cyclocross bike in an evans jersey.
perhaps you need another crack at it then.
i wouldn't know!
you should do another one, then i could tell you 🙂
it's still a terrible name 😉
i will be there - is it on again?
excellent course btw. did you organise it terrahawk?
gutted its full, would've really liked to have done that 😥
What's full?
the feb race isn't it?
Last Feb's was. This Feb's will have double the capacity so people won't have to turn up at my front door with £10 notes and get upset when I tell them to clear off.
One in the "summer" too?
add one to you expected numbers list
ill be there 🙂
been looking forward to it since the winter sprinter.
so the one in feb 2010 is NOT full? are you accepting postal entries now then?
there will be a summer one too. It'll be big. But not as big as the first one we did.
But yeh, we're doing it again.
20th Feb 2010 (obviously that's the winter race).
I'm posting this here and bugger the consequences.
Not yet Neil.
Neil, it's not full. We've not even opened the entry yet.
Sorry - the "we're full!" proclaimation on the website needs taking off cos it pertains to the last one.
Oh, is there a website? Maybe you should put a link to it...
Not yet. We haven't got rid of all the rubbish from the last race.

repeatedly 😉
Harry_the_Spider when is the entery thing going to be open?
Oh, is the free entry for tall people still applicable?
Nezbo - December. We'll put some stuff on our site nearer the time and try and avoid spamming this one!
mrsflash - Oh yes. You're not getting out of it that easily.
oh bum 🙁
I shall be doing it again this time, only with a cross bike and not a MTB too awkward to carry up those bl**dy steps.
And I've now resolved why I was riding along coughing my guts up all the time - I have asthma..!
Oh, and please make sure it's a nice clear day like it was and the soup kicthen is back.
Soup kitchen - Check
Steps - Check
Weather - hmmm
are CX bikes alllowed? thats a bit crap isn't it?
Soup Kitchen and Steps?
That sounds like the worlds worst nightclub.
Any idea who the 'turn' is going to be this year?

It worked last time.
The CX have the speed, the MTBs have the endurance.

Can you ask SSC to sponsor the event 😉
Duck and cover...
Harry_the_Spider i'm one of the people behind the brownbacks xc series. i'd really like to race the feb event but if you get stuck for marshals or anything then give me a shout and i'd be glad to help? email in profile
Cheers Neil.
Juan, we have a new and fancy sponsor who will be unveiled shortly. It isn't SCC however. Not that I have anything against SSC, they supported us at the 2008 race and made a donation to charity.

Fight you for last place Tom.
February, eh? well since I can't afford to ski in february even in a good year, I might be able to make this one. Will be taking photos and drinking beer though rather than racing. I'll need a preview ride so I can recce the course and choose a suitable location, will there be preview rides? Can you publicise them on here? ta 😉
Andrew, if you need any help with either of the events mate let me know. Not sure if you're aware but events are what I do for a living. Used to organise big club nights for 3000+ people and now organise conferences, awards ceremonies, product launches - we're doing the TUC in Liverpool at the moment.
More than happy to help & get involved in my spare time.

peachos - did he look like this, but in focus?
yes that's him. the undeserved 3rd place. i was in fact 3rd for most of the race, but my front tyre slid out on the last lap down by the pond/lake. it wasn't a bad fall i just hit my head. got back up and started to pedal straight away but then went dizzy and had to stop for a couple of minutes whilst i regained my vision. saw this guy fly past and tried to chase him down but ran out of course.
hmm, i remain to be convinced about the CX bikes.
so I shall enter and see what its like
cx bikes all the way. Nothing that you need any form of suspension for, as I remember, and everyone on a cross went past me, so that must be the secret to success.... 😉
Already excited! Hopefully this time my brake pads will last the race!
I'm in. just tell me a few weeks before and I'll show up. CX all the way!
top 4 were:
1 - cx
2 - mtb
3 - cx
4 - mtb
Count me in, I'll give Mike a run for last place
