I will be hiring a DH bike in the Alps and I'm looking for accidental damage and theft insurance. I already have person injury, public liability and rescue insurance but my current accidental damage and theft insurance is only for bikes I own.
When looking at getting quotes, they seem to include person injury and public liability etc which I don't need. Anyone know of companies just offering accidental damage and theft insurance for hire bikes?
I asked the hire company we are using and they don't partner with any insurance companies and didn't have any recommendations.
I've looked into my current insurance and abroad I am not covered for as much as I am in the UK. So I will go with someone like Yellow Jersey and get insurance specifically for the trip.
Don’t the hire company offer a liability waiver? Whenever I’ve rented a bike you pay an extra $25CAD for any issues. Don’t think that would cover theft, but you gave the bike back every night, so it never need leave your sight.
I don't know, I'll have a look. They only want the bike back every 2 days, so I will be keeping it my accommodation at some point.
