Hi folks,

I've finally got to rebuilding my beloved Salsa Fargo, on which I crashed in December (breaking my hip in the process). It was surprisingly unhurt, but the wheels and forks were trashed so I've taken the opportunity to do some sneaky upgrading! I was running Schwalbe Marathon Mondiale 50mm with tubes - they were pretty good tyres, but a bit draggy. I'd like to try running tubeless; also, my new rims (Spank Ooozy 295) are much wider than the old ones.

The bike will be used primarily for commuting and secondarily for touring and overnight (and couple of nights) bike-packing - mostly on road, but a significant percentage of what NZ calls road are just gravel tracks. The Schwalbes were good for this...

I'm really struggling to find any explicitly tubeless tyres that aren't proper off-road knobbly tyres. Any suggestions?

Not sure how big the slick or semi slick Panaracer Gravel Kings go, might be worth a look, running 32mm on my audax bike

@MoreCashThanDash - good call - up to 700c x 50 (although, clearly, it's not going to be a 'c' tyre if it's 50mm wide!)...

I've 700x50c Gravelkings on my Free Ranger.

Used mainly off-road (hard-pack) but decent enough on tarmac.

I find gravel Kings to be pretty good on the road.

Maxxis ReFuse - Way tougher than slick Gravelkings, in my experience. Perfectly capable on the grav too.

Renee Herse tyres, has a few to choose from. I’ve used Barlow Pass and Bon Jon Pass. Both very good on road.
I did the SDW in the summer on Bon Jon Pass, so ok for dry easy gravel.

Awesome! Thank you all so much - I'll have to start digging to see what I can get over here.

Bit late to this, but I really liked Gravel Kings (slick) in 38mm as mainly road tyres. They did a bit of gravel round that reservoir in the Elan Valley too. Seemed pretty fast to me, and grippy and comfortable too. BUT the rear is worn through to the canvas now, and I only got them in mid June. They were very light compared to the alternatives so I was expecting a trade off in durability, but I thought they'd last longer than a few months. I'm replacing it with a Schwalbe G-one Allround Evo, but others I liked the look of were Teravail Ramparts and Vittoria Terreno Zeros. I wouldn't get the Gravel Kings again.
