[#3959626]

I've always looked around for photos or videos of the descent from Dollywagon pike down to grisedale tarn then the valley floor to show people what is was like and give them an idea of whether they could attempt it, but could never really find anything decent. So I finally edited my chest cam footage from september or so last year and thought some on here might find it interesting.

23 minutes long so you might want to skip through bits and bobs, the stone steps get repetitive. Lots of dabs and the odd stop along with two *hop-over-the-bars-and-land-on-your-feet* crashes. yes I uploaded in 960p format, nevermind eh.

This is where chest cams etc. come into their own - giving you a flavour of a trail that a .gpx or description can't.

Always wanted to try this one, but looking at that and being a LTHT rider I'm not so sure now until I finally take the FS plunge.

Not sure about the stack of spacers though...

slainte 😆 rob

Yeah i don't like the idea of cutting the steerer too short. One day my sternum might tell me off for it...

I'm trialling my new backpack I'll be using for the coast to coast, my one worry is mobility on the bike but I'll find out one way or another Saturday 🙂

Love that descent a walker cried due to the stress of watching us ride down it and accused us of ruining her walk. We had a record of 11 over the bars between the 5 of us going down.

Nice video, nice polite biker to rambler skills. Nice to see some proper riding. I had an ad for bike lights on the right of this as I watched it which made me think how much fun would this be in the dark??? I'm shocked it's a bridleway - sod taking a horse down there!

Well I went and did it 😉 what a bloody slog to the top of helvellyn but the descent all the way back to patterdale was brilliant. Dollywagon was evil and was a lot more difficult than rangers in my opinion. The descent back to Patterdale was great and wa full of rocky multiple line choices. This morning my body feels battered with all the jumping and moving around on the bike yesterday lol. All in all one of the best complete descent I have ever done in the lakes. We had no crashes or over the bar incidents and all the walkers where amazed we were attempting Dollywagon :-), I'd love to see someone clear it with stopping lol.

I went from glen ridding via the old quarry and I say it's a good 2/3 rds pushing. I could of carried on and gone up kepple cove, there is another route on bogtrotters site that is a lot longer.

A mate of mine doing Dollywagon with no dabbs in damp conditions,6 mins to bottom, getting down without a puncture is hard enough 😯

(uploaded in standard def for speed sorry)
