Thanks again all, massively helpful!

@crazy-legs it’s like you read my mind, loose plan is to get hit up and running now, see how I get on with it and address any issues, next year, if she’s a keeper, run her to the local powder coaters who’ll do a frame and fork for peanuts and done!!

Update 2…

-Fully cleaned
-All bearings replaced
-Rear hub serviced and rebuilt
-Brakes cleaned, bled and given some new pads
-new single chainring up front (double on standby in case I feel the need for a change) (all from someone else’s spares box)
-new chain (from the standby box)
-new (spares box special) wider bars
-new gear cable (from the standby box)
-same 26” wheels (if only for now)
-pair of egg beaters for the footsies (from the spares box)

Total cost so far £103.74

Took her out for a spin this morning and she is QUICK!!! So much fun to ride on the roads it’s almost silly

Needless to say, well chuffed with my bargain basement ride

Chainrings:

These guys made a chainring for me to my specified BCD/teeth/thickness. Recommended.
