Help! Talk me out of a bike purchase

I've an unexplainable lusting for a mini velo, just to ride the damn thing on inappropriate trails. They just look fun and daft. I'm 6ft and I'll look more ridiculous than I did on a 26" wheeled bike.

I still want one though

Thread is 7 hours old. Have you ordered one yet?

Whatever you do, don't ride one, you'll probably want one more. (A friend has a Cannondale Hooligan, an absurd bike, and it's a complete riot.)

I can vouch for how much fun 20" wheels are for 6' riders - rode mine across Wales this summer (obviously it's not a BMX!)

Definitely read this thread about the Mini Velo experience then. Yep, that'll definitely dissuade you.

Actually @cokie we could do with the final installment of the YouTube series about it.

Yes they do look fun.

Far less ridiculous than the Mini BMX I bought a while back, but at least that was cheap! Ridden it four times.

I cut my MTB teeth riding an Airnimal Rhino 20” FS. Bit like a mini velo. Rode it all around Swinley weekly. Sadly it was stolen. Was a lot of fun, but in accordance with the other thread, decent off road 406 tyres are rare.

Get one!

Thread bump.
My custom build has been ace. A set of 2.6” nobblies has taken me across the ridgeway and single track, whilst a set of Schwalbe 2.4” slicks makes it fast and comfortable around town and roads.
Odd mixture of feeling stable yet playful.
Little autumn edit- yes, I lack the skills but it was bloody good fun.
