Hi, I won a brand new Kinesis CX frame on ebay the other week, the advert said it was a size 54cm but when it arrived it was actually a size 51cm frame - too small.
The seller has agreed to for me to return it for a refund, but I really like the frame so i'm reluctant to let it go, plus I got it for a decent price.
I've reached out to upgrade bikes (distributor for Kinesis I believe) but they are saying it can't be resold by them due to "the nature of the frame numbers being used for marketing." I'm not really sure what this means.
Anyhow, can anyone think of another way to try and get the frame swapped out, I think I may have hit a brick wall but I thought it was worth a shot.
Cheers,
Andy

My advice is never buy a frame that's not the right size.
Or are you asking about keeping it to sell on?
confused.
It sounds like you just need to return it for a refund and look for another one in the right size to me.
Huh?
Why would Kinesis get involved with this swap?ย When you say 'brand new', what do you mean?ย Really brand new, from a shop?ย Or actually second hand - has someoneย else bought it previously (it might be unused, but that is beside the point)?
Well the seller won the frame, which was donated by upgrade bikes/kinesis as a prize. They then advertised the wrong frame size on ebay and I bought it not knowing this at the time. It is brand new in box, never used.
I don't think i'm going to get anywhere with this ๐
Seller's mistake, your bad luck unfortunately.
so distributor gives prize of frame size they have over stocked and you want them to swap it for a different one they know they can sell?
I can understand them not wanting to join in.
return for a refund.
Sort of.
Yep - I'll return for a refund.
Thanks for the words of wisdom ๐
Sorry, your expectations here are stupid. ย Sorry to be blunt. ย You are right to give it up.
