hi guys, please can anyone assist me! just ripped my rear mech off my 09 five, got a crappy branch stuck in all the gearing and the rear mech shredded off making it unrideable!
now looking into the aftermath a bit more, the rear mech hanger is still on and looks to be in tact which is good, but the bolt has shearded off though that connects the rear mech and hanger, a few washers burst out of it and the top of the bolt has shearded off the rest of the bolt....
so does any one know where on earth i can get just the bolt for the rear mech/hanger? that connects the two?
i have a feeling my rear mech is bent too, but wont know till someone of higher intelligence can tell me tomorrow, but i need a quick fix and hopefully somebody here has an idea where i can get that much needed bolt???

i thought the hanger had torn off initially as thats what they are there for, but its still there, securely on and there are no marks of clean metal work showing, suggesting it hasnt snapped anywhere?
i'd be tempted to just write the rear mech off, a bent mech can cause no end of shifting problems, if the force was sufficient to rip the mech bolt from the mech there's almost certainly going to be further damage. Better to fit a temporary loan mech or just a new good one.

Madison will have some depending on what mech it was. Some Shimano mechs have 'breakaway' bolts intended to snap rather than destroy the mech itself.
Give 'em a call Monday - they really can be quite helpful.
thanks guys, im pretty sure the rear mech is a write-off to be honest like you seem to suggest, i cant believe only the bolt is the only damage also, was shocked that the hanger looks to be intact thought.... ill get that confirmed tomorrow, so does the bolt im after, come with the hanger? or does it come with the rear mech?

The bolt that holds the mech onto the hanger comes with the mech.

just found out the mech hanger is fine, and its literally just the bolt thats sheared off, done a search on ebay for the bolt only, to no avail, so if anyones got one going spare/selling, let me know please 🙂
