[Closed] Help please! can i run a 32-24t double chain ring up front with a short cage mec

im currently running a 1x10 setup with a short cage shimano zee rear mech. can i add a double ring setup (24-32t) and run 2x10 with the same rear mech ?

depends on the cassette, couldn't hurt to try

You could probably make it work but remember the chain line will alter as well. In summary: get a medium cage

The capacity of a SRAM for MTB is 32 short/ 37 med / 45 long.

Yours is 32-24=8 and 36-11=25 ..... 25+8=33

You could chance it but it could be tight (loose).

Which front mech are you thinking of using?
The reason I ask is cos I'm using 36/24 up front and the sram x9 mech will not go low enough to have any where near ideal chain line.

There was a bike at the LBS with the SLX one and some little rings, and normal mounts.
