Mrs Infidel has decided that she wants to come riding a bit so in a bid to make her bike (Kona Fire Mountain she has never really used and which sat outdoors for ages - before I met her I'd like to add!) a bit better I've replaced her Marzocchi MZ with a MX pro I had. Problem is that the MX has post mount and her brakes are IS with a 160mm rotor. I've looked on CRC and found a bracket to convert post mount to IS for a 170mm rotor but its out of stock....
I'm thinking:
a) a2z for an adaptor and buy a bigger rotor
b) buy a post mount front brake
Anyone got any ideas for a solution??!
What brakes on it just now?
currently - Shimano BR-M465 Mechanical Disc rear brakes with Avid FR-5 levers...
sorry - that should be BR-M465 front brake. Anyone know a solution?
The M465 is a post mount brake anyway isn't it? Won't it work with a 160mm rotor without the adaptor? Have you tried?
I am an idiot. Mystery - you are a legend. Thank you indeed!!! Solution:
look closer at caliper. Remove post to IS adaptor already there. Voila, a caliper that post mounts directly and a stupid me.
