[#5436101]

I've just started putting more bits in to my build to find out I've bought the wrong size front mech.
I need a 28.6mm,Is there anyway I can bodge it to make it fit ???

If you've bought too big it's probably possible to shim it (deffo if shimano)

Shim material can be pretty much anything, electrical tape or a chopped up beer can are just as good as the shims you get with some mechs.

But it is an excuse to first drink a beer then carefully shape one yourself. Please note the first part is important ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you need to pad it out just whack a bit of old inner tube in there. Works perfectly on my inbred!!

28.6 shims come with most Shimano front derailleurs. If you didn't get any, then your LBS or someone on STW probably has a set lying around. I'd suggest a wanted add on the classified forum.
