Ok guys i made a post yesterday about the frame on my current bike being too big. Therefore i've decided im going to buy a new frame and just switch the parts over and worry about selling the frame afterwards.
The bike in question is the Giant Talon 3 with the following specs:

Frame Giant AluxX aluminium, Fluid FormedTM
Fork Suntour XCM V2 100mm lock out
Shock N / A
Handlebar Giant Sport aluminium riser
Stem Giant Sport aluminium ahead
Seatpost Giant Sport aluminium
Saddle WTB Speed V Comp
Pedals Giant platform
Shifters Shimano EZ Fire 50 24 speed
Front Derailleur Shimano C050
Rear Derailleur Shimano Alivio
Brakes Shimano BRM 416 mechanical discs, 160mm rotors
Brake Levers Shimano
Cassette Shimano HG40 11-32
Chain KMC Z7
Crankset FSA Dyna Drive 22/32/42
Bottom Bracket FSA RPM Cartridge
Rims CR18 double wall aluminium
Hubs Formula disc
Spokes Black stainless steel
Tyres Kenda Nevegal 2.1"
Extras
Weight (lb/kg) 32.02/14.58

I've been looking towards the on one 456 or the on one inbred frames which fit my current budget.
I mainly ride places like Cannock Chase (FTD + Monkey) mainly red route rides. Also looking to get out to some of the places in wales.

Just wondering which frame you guys recommend for this kind of stuff? and is there anything that could cause a problem of compatability with a new framE?

Thanks in advance, you guys seem to know what you're on about ๐Ÿ˜†

issues you might have with new frame;

different headset standard
different seat tube diameter = new seat post (or just a shim) new front mech (or a shim)
different gear cables and outers needed
different brake hose lengths needed (either shorter or longer).
steerer on fork being too short (or long)
stem length not suiting new frame design (ie. longer TT needs shorter stem)
different BB length required (if sq taper)

most are solvable relatively cheaply but could all add up

Might need a new seatpost, new seat collar, new front mech. Headset should fit.

personally, I'd go for an Inbred as unless you plan to fit a longer fork you won't need the extra 'beefiness' and slcker angle of the 456.

you will end up with a heavier bike than you're current one, though, I suspect if that's an issue for you.

if you're happy with an Alu frame then look at the Dirty Jo/Viper/Handsome Dog/etc frames - some good value lightish frames.

Headset should fit.

Don't think it will; Giant bikes use internal/integrated (can never remember which) headsets - different standard as wwaswas says.

Ah ok, figured it would just be normal.

And yeah, no need for the 456, you should be fine with the normal inbred.

Ok thats great looks like im going for the inbred!
In regards to weight i dont think it will be too much of an issue, its not something im worried about at this stage

Thanks again for the advice
