after a couple of months commuting and a lot of snow riding i thought i'd give my brakes some TLC but i've moved the outboard ajduster in with the pads removed "idiot". I'd forgot thats a stupid thing to do with bb7's,anyhows can you get the cam thingy back in without stripping it ?
There's a little circlip in there to stop the pad carrier going out too far. Once it's gone past its groove it's almost impossible to get it back in.
What I did when servicing my BB7 callipers was remove the circlip and replace it with an O-ring. When lightly greased with high melting point grease it slides back in easily and if it doesn't try again with a new O-ring.
The pad carrier can't fall out in use because it doesn't come out far enough - the brake pads make sure of that.
thanks for the reply, will the circlip go back on if you strip that side of the caliper,i know they arn't supposed to need servicing but there is a service manual on sram website.
