just found out that sadly it looks like i'm driving my mother in law up to littlehampton for a funeral in the next week and as a result i'm going to take the opportunity to spend some time in the downs. but i grew up further west than this part (butser/chichester area was my place) so i'm not really sure where to head.
can anyone suggest any nice typically south downs routes for me, 3-5'ish hours, that i can look at doing. not after anything crazy just lovely scenic downs.
i'm thinking mtb, but its also an option to take my road bike if theres a cracking road ride to be had.
finally, i may well tent it for a night so peaceful basic campsite recommendations would be cool too please.
