I have a pair of Shimano MW702s and they are so, so comfortable. I have wide, triangular feet like a duck's PLUS high arches. The MW702s are like comfy comfy slippers, for these feet.

My other cycling shoes - "fine" - but start to get uncomfortable after a couple of hours.

When I did LEJOG last year I ended up doing it almost all in the MW7s even though it was June.

I now have a cycling trip in Portugal and Spain coming up in September...

I have already sent back 2 pairs of internet-bought shoes after ten minutes with them on, just sitting on the sofa, told me "no".

If you too have duck feet, high arches and love MW7s for winter - what do you recommend for equal comfort in summer?

I may just have to buy a second pair of MW7 and see if I can make them suitable for summer use #breadknifetime but ideally... Not 😉

Help help help pls!

I used to use the previous version of the MW07. I have a high arch (and orthotic insoles) but my foot is quite narrow.

I use Shimano XC1 shoes and they fit fine. I tried some DHB Troika MTB shoes that were fine in the midfoot but HUGE at the toe. If you're a size 41, you can have them for a few quid

Shimano do wide fit version in a lot of their shoes. Have you tried any of those already?

I have a relatively wide forefoot, definitley high arches, narrow heel. Spesh work for me, with the aftermarket BG high insoles. Lake might be another option, but I think they're wide at the heel too.

Try eBay etc for old shimano am boots (all mountain)  , I use them in summer and the winter versions in winter, seem to fit the same … (well on my normalish size 7 s)

I wear mw702's in the winter and wide fit xc701's in the summer. Specialized weren't wide enough for me and Lake wide fits also had wide heels which resulted in heel lift. Shimano wide fit were perfect but I had to buy them from Germany

Shimano XC7 or RX600? not tried either but I assume they're a similar fit, They do a 'Wide' version of both.

Might well be worth visiting an actual bricks and mortar shop to have a look and try...
