Bike is nearly built up and need to get riding and fit quickly. So will be starting from my place on Wilmslow Road in Withington - anything fun to take in of the off-road variety? Or any ideas so that it's not just all roads

Ok cheers for the shout mate. Just wondering if there were any hidden little bits of country or forest to play in on the way round here. Cheers

BMX at Platt Fields. You could pootle around the water parks and surrounding area. Nothing interesting as such till you get a bit further out.

We do a night ride around the waterparks on Tuesdays and some Thursdays if that's of any interest.

That sounds good. Not really into half pipes and the like......I'll probably hurt myself! haha.

Sounds good Andy, where do you go from?

Go up Burton Rd through West Didsbury and turn right onto Barlow Moor Road. Then second left onto Stanton Avenue and over the stile onto the banks of the mersey.

Then try and stick to the tracks at the top of the banks and have an explore around chorlton and sale water parks, etc.

All very tame stuff and just good for stretching your legs, but then you are in the middle of a city and it's a bit of an urban oasis down there.
