[#2243373]

I've got a set of Mustang 29er OSB disc rims and want to source some Bonty strips for them as the ones in my Dusters went it easily and work.

Anyone know where I can get them from online? JE James lists a few but not for my rims.

Cheers

Tim

Bugger. Not tubeless rim strip compatable. Maybe time to go ghetto.

Thanks anyway.

I got a mustang rim on the front of my 29er... went Ghetto using a spare inner tube to make a rim strip, Bonty Mud-X TLR tyres, stans goo and my compressor for inflation. (couldn't inflate it with a track pump)

Been running it for 3 weeks, 3 rides now and all is well.

CO2 canister does the job too, just later the tire and rim in 70/30 wahing up liquid/water before to get a seal just right.

I've got the same rims and have been considering going with the Joe's rim strips since they work perfectly on my SS (26") - inflated first time even without sealant (since added, don't worry!). Any reason you're not considering Joe's, Tim?

Pretty sure that Stans advise against using CO2 to inflate tubeless as it causes a smeggy lump of latex in the tyre. I always used to wonder what and how that was caused.

Probably due to the cold gas entering alright, Boyles law and all that lark.

TBH, never been an issue that ive noticed. Just infate away from the spooge and you'll be grand

Mustang - definate not Bonty Tubeless Compatable
Rhythm - Bonty tubeless compatable (Duster is the same rim)

We have sealant on the ceiling to prove that although the rim strips look like they will fit, at some point they do (very dramatically) let go!
