Is this a good starting point please, until I find what I like, for where I ride:
Stem: 70mm, zero rise
Spacers: 3mm under the stem
Bars: Easton 685mm wide with 20mm rise
Mounted on
Orange 5 2005 16", with RS Revs, dual position 150mm normally, dropping to 120mm for steep climbs.
I'm just under 5'10", fairly average proportions.

it's too subjective. I'm happy on my L Heckler with 90mm stem and no spacers.

Sorry but no one will really be able to answer that as it'll depend on so many variables.
It doesn't sounds completely silly but then you might be odd and it's horrible for you...
