i have a liberator which i used to use on the bars, really happy with the light however I just cannot get it to mount suitably on my helmet using the velcro straps as the vents are not in the right place so my light points right at the ground.
has anyone successfully used another type of helmet mount for this light?
i have considered taking a exposure helmet mount and cutting the clip flush then gluing on the troutie but not sure this is possible?
any ideas?
I use blu-tak under the front of mine to get it at the right angle.
i use stuff like that in work we mold it for pressure relief on toes.
its a fair suggestion thanks but would like a secure mount not a velcro/sugru combo.. its the place of the vents which make velcro no good for my helmet..
having said that i will try it!!
Ask Chris would be my first port of call.
@ rob yes I mailed him earlier on yesterday, I'm awaiting his response.
He's on holiday at the moment according to his site
meh, typical great timing by me there then!!
He's back in about 10 days but he has took his ipad with him to check on here and emails ๐
if you dont hear from him within a couple of days, email me and i'll give him a gentle nudge!
smudge you got your light instock? should be putting an order in this week if so.
On a plane heading this way as I type Mosey. Please keep checking on FB or website for updates.
The liberator will not be a great helmet light.
The beam is too wide and the unit is relatively heavy.
Keep it on the bars and buy a smaller, single XML unit for the head.
Smudge does a good one that I've used - nice tight spot and the "throw" is about twice the lib.
BTW - I use a lib on the bars and a trout proto single XML on the lid.
thanks chris,i'll mail smudge see what he has..
