I saw that and did think that with those small diameter wheels it would be a nightmare unless it was pretty smooth. Any ruts and it'll be face brake time.

my snow bikes wheel set with tires and tubes weigh 12 in total ......

rear brake to save drag - drag on what exactly ? badly set up brakes?

I think there is an ice road for supplying the research station at the South pole, I suspect that this is what she will be travelling along.
