What could you guys recomend, thats not to expensive?
My old type Hope gave up and apparently the bearings are non replacable.
Now the Superpoo one is creaking worse than my wallet.

You don't say what bike, but check out whatever FSA model is appropriate.

I've had three of their Pig DH Pro headsets on different bikes and never any trouble from any of them.

Check Woolly Hat Shop for cheap ones.

I'd go for new hope - or a 2nd hand one if you can find one - Had mine for 9 months now and still good as new!

Bike is a Rocky Mountain ETSX with a standard 1 1/8" size headset.

if your not fussed about weight, FSA Pig or Pig Pro.

End of thread.

the ONLY headset built to withstand a nuclear attack, however you will need a forklift to fit it as the bearings are made of dark matter*

(*it is possible that some to all of these statements are exagerations)

I think they are all much of a muchness - I've had a Cane Creek Sealed cartridge bearing C2 for about 8 years now. Once every few months I take it out, clean it and pack it with quality boat grease. It's like new. A bearing is just a bearing after all. I'm 16 stone and hard on my kit by the way.

FSA Orbit XL2 / XLii - cheap (just over £20), reliable, durable. What more could you want?

My oldest XL2 is 4 years old now and still smooth despite not being touched. For £20 it's gotta be worth a punt anyway.

I've always used FSA Pig's but last one died in about a month so now I'm on an Orbit MX. The Devil is selling black ones for £25.

Cheers everyone.
I've gone and ordered the FSA Orbit XL2 for £19.50.
The HOPE would have been nice but just spent to much on some HOPE hoops.

Steve.
