I am contemplating upgrading the fork on my HB130, mainly for knackered neck/vertebrae reasons. I have with all other bikes, along with adjusting flip-chips to slackest, and it just means I don’t have to lift my head too much to look ahead when riding.
Interested if anyone has done this, and info on how the bike performs.
Wouldn't a higher rise bar do the trick?
I believe some team riders have done it, and some customers have bumped the HB160 up to 170mm at the front. I will be at the next lowers service.
Give Doddy a ping. He'll tell you whether it voids the warranty or not.
Also, given all the grease my the 36 at the first service, it'll be worth doing.
Doddy’s fine with the upgrade.
They are slightly higher rise bars than my RF SixCs.
I’m not good,or fast, enough be influenced by BB height for technical reasons. Guess I’m just looking for any noticeable negatives/positives from those who’ve done it.
I was looking at one and they said they would offer 140 or 150mm forks, along with a few other slight changes (203 brake on front, different pedals, brakes, crank) all happily covered. Were really good, just a shame I dont have the cash lol.
Hi
Fairly sure mine came at 150mm.
Will check tonight
Cheers
Steve
Yeah, Doddy told me 150 would be fine but he recommended nothing longer.
Edit: I have lower back troubles so like to sit a bit more upright so when I ordered I asked them to cut the steerer a bit longer than normal and stick a couple of extra spacers in there. It works for me. Prob too late for you though.
Yes, I’ve put all of the spacers underneath. I think if I do the 150mm fork thing, I’ll be sorted.
Many thanks
