I have the rydes which are virtually identical. They're basic but powerful and are hassle free. Two years of 5 days a week use and they haven't needed bled yet. Bit noisy in the wet but sintered pads help

had a pair for a short while until i somehow managed to damage the rotor and calliper on a rock in the peaks. couldn't really fault them.

i have them on my wolfridge.powerful and very sturdy brake.
as has been said there a bit noisy in the wet even with sintered pads.
a bit of heat soon sorts this out.

I got the stroker trails from merlin 18monhs ago put them on my XC/ commuter bike not had to touch them at all. Pads changes are tool free, I am 18st and use them with 180 rotors and they stop me when i need them to. I get decent modulation from them too, the rotors are good and strong far better than my formula oro rotors.

If you want a little used pair of Hayes Stroker Ride's off my wife's bike I'm selling them for £35 posted. Rear caliper has slight weep/leak.

She already has new brakes and I can't honestly be bothered to fix it.

They are very reliable and quite powerful, no probs with mine, pads last for ages. Most reviews rate them. Not as wooden as 9's.

what are we doing wrong? We hate them! Wooden feeling, touch when not in idyllic conditions, fallen apart on us, only brake we've had probs bleeding. The pistons don't die after a week like juicy 3s though!
