Not having much luck getting a reply from CRC at the moment so thought I'd chance asking here.
Does anyone happen to know what the standard rotor size is for a Hayes El-Camino rear brake? Bought an OEM packed one from CRC and...well it's not big on detail and doesn't come with a rotor.
I've got a 160mm spare knocking around somewhere but figured I'd check before I start setting everything up only to find it's too small/big.
It's post mount with an IS adaptor, so that's probably going to bork things up a bit 🙂
Thanks for any help
Hayes produces V8, V7 and V6 model rotors, which are 8", 7" and 6" repectively and require the appropriate Hayes adaptor to fit correctly.
I have the V6 rotors. I refitted the front with a 180mm Hope Mono M4 rotor and a Shimano front Post Mount 180mm apaptor which fits and works well.
From the photos, the rear 160mm Shimano Post Mount to IS adaptor doesn't appear that it will fit the El Camino caliper but as the 180mm front apaptor fits, this could be used on the rear for 160mm (the front adaptor appears to be thinner than the rear). The larger rear adaptor sizes look like a better fit.
