..that if you hold a Strava KOM you're technically a world record holder?
๐ก
No,no,no.
You are only the fastest person who happened to record the time over that segment using dubious and often inaccurate gps techniques. No records of any description.
However dubious it may be, all competing times are equally as dubious, so technically it's still a level playing field for that particular squiggle of GPS data and I uphold my claim ๐
Did you piss in a cup afterwards?
Doesn't count otherwise.
No?
SACK THE DRUG CHEAT!
Did you piss in a cup afterwards?
I rinsed in a beaker. Does that count?
I've realised I shouldn't click posts that have vague click me to read more connotations in the title.
Quite the gent, aren't we? ๐
Segments are not universal or standardised. You can't repeat it elsewhere so it doesn't count. And dubious measuring doesn't count either.
Wouldn't it be great if KOMs got ruled out because of a tailwind over 2m/s? Actually, that would be pretty much all of them.

What have you heard? Lies, I tell you. Lies.

This. My only remaining KOM is for a lap of the course of a fairly significant 24hr race in 2013. It wasn't a bad time but no way was I fastest on the day, I'm just the fastest one to upload it to Strava.
Still quietly pleased that I have it though... ๐
Sod it then [checks strava and prepares willy for waving].
I AM A WORLD RECORD HOLDER [s]MANY[/s] a few TIMES OVER - RAAAAAAGH
What do I win?
top work Cpt top work ๐
Ah, I see that CFH wins. Clearly ๐
It counts damn it! No-one is going to take my little bit of tow path glory away from me. No-one! Not even Roy Castle himself! (Wonder how he is getting on anyway? Saxonrider?)

Going OT slightly it always baffles me how there can be a running marathon world record, all the courses are different.
I think it's a fair point - Bolt only holds his because we don't have a proper runnig track near me. And I've a sore knee.
What do I win?
A refreshing, if curiously salty, celebratory beverage!
Bottoms up!

Still the fastest person to run 26.2 miles though no?
Its not as if runninning 100m in 35degrees is the same as running it in a 5degree drizzle.
