Any decent presents, anything you want to swap with other forum members?
The gravel one I'd asked for as a mate and I want to do some 'proper' gravel rides next year. Looks a good book although it appears the 'best' rides are in Scotland. I'm fine with that 🙂
The Epic Bike rides was a surprise and a good one. Really interesting routes (MTB/Road/Bit of both) and some fab pictures. When it's cold and dark here, can make some 'it might happen one day' plans for a two week trip.
The Don Eyles book is just me geeking out as I love everything about the technical side of the Apollo programme. So much stuff being created (eg computer programming!) that we take for granted now. This is quite an in depth / techy book but I've wanted to add it to the library for a while. Recommended on here I think.
So very happy with those esp since we don't really do presents between the better half and I. And I'd just bought myself this 🙂
A weekend away in York in February (me'n'her's pressie to each other)
A book about the west of Ireland from my sister
Chocolates, fudge and a Peanuts book in the traditional Massey Christmas Raffle.
That's my lot, and I'm happy with it.
Bike wise, some nice Shimano singlespeed SPD pedals for my town/commuter bike and some proper mudguards for the Gravel bike. Fitting them to my satisfaction should take me right up to when I'm back in work on 2nd Jan. 😁
Two pairs of Outside In (homeless charity) socks, an OI beanie and half a Dyson…we needed a new one for the house so me and my partner just split the cost.
Quite glad to have removed the stress of buying actual presents this year!
A GoPro mount for my paddleboard.
I've not got a go pro - nor have I any plans to get one. But the thought was there.
Bright yellow crocs.
Some white wine cask tamnavulin
Any decent presents
A STW t-shirt. A STW bobble hat. An Endura under-helmet hat.
A full set of bearing presses and a couple of Rox (wahey) t shirts.
Park Tools PP-1.2 😃
I got a baby elephant. Not sure where I'm going to put it, but it's quite small for an elephant.

Not bike related, but what do you buy for the ageing hipster in your life who both loves pizza and tools? 🤔
Well a pizza axe of course! 😂

I've got the same best of gravel rides book.
And an Apidura bike bag. Some Muc'off stuff too.
(ST mag subscription is almost a 'given' too as Mrs put it on subscription for me years ago and it keeps renewing 😁).
I think I'm gonna have to go ride my bike today to see if they work 🤔
And some port. Hmmm... maybe I can put some in a mini bottle... if I'm off road After all.
Love the pizza axe. On my list for next year!
Socks and a T-shirt from the kids. That’s it this year. We just bought stuff for the kids. I now want a pizza axe!
Sinusitus. Trades welcome…
That axe really is the best christmas present ever for the pizza loving axe murderer in ones life. Absolutely fabulous.
My BBQ journey begins...

Gravel Rides Scotland book
Not bike but outdoorsy:
Scarpa Ribelle HD boots
Haglofs Active GTX jacket
I’m very fortunate to still have elderly Aunts and an Uncle who still want to buy me something. After years of my Mom asking what they should get, about 10 years ago I said anything from Rapha!
This years haul includes a pair of winter gloves, a merino headband, a merino t-shirt, a pair of merino boxers, 3 pairs of merino socks and the Tommy Simpson book. You could say I’m quite chuffed!!
Set of lifeline pro hex keys. Wife bought them in the black Friday sale.
Oh, and one of them Singletrack insulated mugs, how did I forget that!?
A cordless Dremel, trade quality mastic gun (the shizzle compared to the DIY barn ones) and a Kenwood Chef liquidiser attachment.
Got that Epic Bike Rides book too (although in my case it's back in Germany in the box from Father Amazon that I need to open when I get back)
Also got socks.
Nothing that I need to swap.
@pisco – nice shirt, where’s that from?
@ElShalimo
Thanks! In true peak STW fashion, it's from Hebtroco. Just had a look - it's the wool one, but that green is not on there anymore.
Thanks
Anyone want to climb this year?
Yes, but doubt I'll get round to it. Also I'm a shockingly bad ice climber. But be sure to post some pics.
And if Raven Crag Gully comes into nick then definitely. 🙂
Would love to read that book. I've got Martin Moran's one and it's simply outstanding.
PS. Let me know if you see any Nepal Extremes for sale cheap ( 45) My Koflachs are now well over 35 years old and I expect them to shatter on the next kick
Bits & bobs from Stepson & BIL's.
The Cut rum is sublime & got some hammer last night!
^^^75.5% !! Did you have a sore head this morning?

No. there was 4 of us & we only had 2 each. You don't need much!
I'm hoping for another bottle off my youngest lad tomorrow.
Garmin varia RL515. I tested the radar only device and decided I liked it so much I upgraded for the rear light. Not ridden it yet buts it’s on the shiny fixed in the dining room.
And a badge to replace one that fell apart. Now on my coat.
Having found working g from home a little chilly, I was given a fake (Primark?) Oodie and an electric "throw"/blanket type thing.
New lid...
New workstand
Camelback bumbag
Just need some motivation
A new bike! Combined Xmas & birthday present: Bird Aether 9c in Matt black, with Formula suspension & brakes and Shimano drivetrain. My first full-sus bike, and first Xmas bike since I was a little kid. Spent today on basic setup on the local streets, off to Swinley on Thursday to get it dirty 😁
Whilst it didn’t exactly come wrapped in paper under the tree, my wife and I spent Xmas with our two week old newborn son. Only took a few years trying, then a few more years on an IVF waiting list.

Probably one of the best Christmas we’ve had. Bloody puggled mind you.
Aw

scruff - you win the internet until next year!
Huge congratulatulations to you and Mrs Scruff - and hello to baby scruff!!
I bought myself a TLD A3 MIPS from the LL PSA and gave my lad the bill. True to form, he forgot to wrap it, so that's a minute amount of the planet's resources that won't need to be recycled.
I got a nice new purple hat (made of lambswool by Scottish firm Mackie, who may also make ice cream and high end audio mixers), a phaser pedal, a bottle of beer, some peanut M&Ms, some dark chocolate buttons, and a beard trimming bib thingy. I think the latter was a T K Max till queue special 😂 but otherwise a very good haul!
A Cotic t-shirt and water bottle, ratchet spanners, a new watch strap and a Karcher window vac (bought by me and wrapped by the kids) and new socks and a curry book that the girls bought.
I asked for world peace but it wasn't available this year, sadly.
