I'd say about right - got some parts on there you could sell relatively easily for what the seller said they're worth.

You could probably have got it cheaper if you'd spent a month on the classifieds on here bargin hunting but you've got a full working bike which assuming it's all in reasonable nick should give good service.

It's a bit yellow!, but if if fits you and you enjoy it...

If you don't pay, the worst you will get is a non-payment strike(pls correct if wrong)

I'd say £650 - £750 at the very most it's going on 6 years old now.

Didn't really have a budget, could have bought a new orange 5,but would have been paranoid about scratching it!

Would it be easy to put a RP23 on it?

ould it be easy to put a RP23 on it?

Its a 'Specialized' sized shock so you cant get an aftermarket option.

WHy would you want to put an rp3 on it?
It's designed to work with the brain shock, no?

Pretty sure a mate put a fox rear shock on his and it improved it no end. Ping me a mail (in profile) and I will put you in contact with him about what he is running if you want!

I'd say about right price wise.

I have a 2007 one (basically the same). The brain shock is great and TF tuned can service and tune them. However you can get an RP23 to fit, but you have to go via Mojo who will do a custom length for it.

Nice bike though, mine has been all over Europe inc alps, Pyrenees and Scotland and with Thors up front I never wanted anything "bigger".

Bit more than I'd have been happy to pay for an ex-demo bike which has probably been hammered. Nice kit on it though, hopefully most of which has been added after it was a tester.

A first sight it looks a bit gopping, but looking closer its actually pretty decent. That stem has got to go though. And the white saddle & grips. All the bits are decent stuff. If it were wearing a Thomson stem & seatpost it would be loads better. I had a brain shock on my SWorks Enduro, they are excellent, certainly on par with an RP23. In fact, they climb better. But dont go undoing the banjo by mistake or you'll have an oil slick, like I did. 😕

Maybe a little high at a glance but has been upgraded a lot, is a unique colour and is pretty much all good quality kit. It does look a bit like the previous owner could have done with a slightly larger frame though (stem a length I haven't encountered since the 90s, and a seat post longer than my top tube).

If you like it and it rides well, which they generally do for the majority of UK mountain biking, then I can't see the problem.

Price does not equal value......

There are better bargains around, but that still looks like a decent ride for the money. Spec wise I'd have preferred the 717 rims, if not the hubs they were on, but I bet you could easily swap that wheelset for a lighter one on the classifieds here if you wanted. Should be a great ride, enjoy it. If it still doesn't feel right after a few rides, you have a good set of components to swap to another frame.

I reckon it's at it's upper limit, but a well upgraded bike. You'd be pushed to sell it for that much here though, but then again I find this forum to be the place to buy bargains and not make money (a bit like mates rates to a load of strangers). But anyway, it's done now and you've got a lovely new yellow bike!
