just stripped my other bike down.
the forks are tora 318 air (with poploc) bought from merlin in 2009. on the bottom of one leg there the black plastic cap for the rebound adjustment (same leg as the poploc connection)... on the other leg where the air spring is located (with the air valve at the top) there is a threaded hole but no bolt in it (there is what looks like a valve hidden a few inches up the fork leg).
is there supposed to be a bolt in there and if so, does it do anything other than protect the valve that is hidden up there?
the forks seem to work fine as they are right now
thanks
Is the bolt there that holds the air spring to the bottom of the fork leg?
i have no idea what i'm looking at, but on the basis that the forks seem to work fine, i can only presume the important bits are still there
photos may help
isn't that where the rebound adjuster torx thing live?
i've found 2 out on the trails over the years
i'd be careful riding those. Not sure if they're the same as pikes/revs/rebas but if they are then your stanchions might part ways with your lowers! ๐ฏ
I think there should be a bolt there. The Mrs has a set on her bike and I just had a look. The little rebound adjuster thing is in the right leg and a big silver hex bolt in the left leg.
oh... so i should be shopping for a m8 hex bolt asap then? lol
your rebound adjuster/bolt is the only thing keeping those forks together
okay... thanks for all the replies...
so it's a m8 bolt with 2 washers i'm needing i think... ?
Disaster averted.lol.
