All this rain thats been falling must be good for something at least and perhaps it has washed away a good chunk of the canal towpath surfacing job that was done on Walna Scar last year. Anyone been up there recently? Whats it like now?

Although I haven't been up there recently, some of my mates said half of what had been done to it, had already washed away! That was a couple of months ago too. Hopefully it's back to its old self.

Had me wondering the same be nice to have a rough track again rather than a relatively smooth surface.

Walked down the Duddon side of it last Monday, seemed alright at the bottom, smooth near the top though. Very solid surface so rain is unlikely to have had that much of an effect, could be wrong though.

Rode it on saturday night: sad to report that the rain has had no impact on the trail, which is still like a gravel fire road (can't see this changing any time soon either). On a plus note there is still a large section of the old trail on the riders left which was techy fun and avoided the new grassy / muddy bit which is crap!
