Hi all,

I have an old elite post which has had a hard 5/6 years life in a hardtail.. I was in the woods riding and stopped for a rest and I noticed a 180 degree crack around the shaft about 1 cm above the seat clamp - no bend. It had 20 cm inserted into the frame and I weigh 75kg with riding kit on.... no creaking at all to warn me - quite an eye opener....

I reckon its one of those things - anyone know what chance if any I have with getting a replacement? I hear thomson are pretty cool and I would buy another no problem.

crap happens

paul

Thin wall high strength alloy part built to be light and strong that has had a hard 5/6 years - I think it has done well tbh.

But give Thomson a call/email and see - nothing to lose.

Wouldn't be disappointed, but still worth giving them a call/email.

Email them and see what they say. They treated me very well when I had an issue with a stem a few years back.
