Hello the handlebars are a bit too low for me what do I need to make them higher
cheers
move em up!
Spacers or riser bars .
spacers under the stem if steerer lenght allows.
stem with more rise.
bars with more rise.
combination of 2/all 3.
Hi I cant move them higher as the steerer is'nt long enough.which stems and handlebars give the most hight they all look the same to me
hEight.
Chain reaction cycles list stems and handlebars with their specs. The highest stems are normally around the 30 degree mark, and the highest riser bars are normally 2 inches. All in all, you can lift the bars around 3 or 4 inches by fiddling with the stem and bar combination.
You need a stem with a high rise angle
My girlfriend has the same problem on a Specialized Rockhopper hardtail seat higher than bars due to long legs !, Fitted higher rise bars and stem, Stem at the top of the steerer, Thinking of trying a set of 120mm forks on it (100mm at present) Not sure what it will do for the handling though ?
Thanks for the help I looked on chain reaction and found some riser stems the only thing is they are all for 25.4 mm bars and mine are 31.5mm
They are probably 31.8mm

"seat higher than bars"
This is normal. And how a bike should be*. It's how most folk are built, nothing to do with long legs. Bars above saddle height would have you sitting very upright, usually not comfortable off road.
Admittedly I'm tall, so an edge case, but even on my DH bike the bars are about level with my saddle. Saddle on the XC bike is higher than the bars by quite a way.
*ok, not shoppers
IA I think that applies for us normal height people (6'3") but plenty of the Napoleon's I ride with have bars way above the saddle.
thanks for the link they look spot on cheers
Its maybe a normal riding postion to you pros ! but she is new to Mtbiking and lacks confidance on downhill sections and feels like she it going over the bars ! So was just looking to alter the set up to make is more comfortable for her.

Drop the saddle, don't raise the bars!
