Myself and the OH are off to the Tweed Valley for a few days this week, and she fancies riding some natural trails rather than usual trail centre stuff. Last time we were up, one of the local guys recommended Gypsy Glen - just wondered what condition the trails are in around there.

Am I getting too hopeful swapping my mud tyres for something more general purpose (& bigger volume)?

Need to check with Joe marler but think it was Sampson he was talking to and he seems ok (check rugby thread if confused)

The top rising to highest point is usually wet. Most is fast and rideable. If it stays dry this week it'll be fine.

Where it's normally boggy, it'll be boggy.

We rode Yair again tonight (after Sunday), and the trails had dried considerably since.

Was there just over a week ago and it was surprisingly ok, the middle bit was 'damp' but easily ride-able.

How is it? Thinking of heading down tomorrow. It aint been raining but it's cold and still so not much drying I suspect?
