Trail building in bramble/ thicket stuff...any particularly good tools?

You can change the attachments depending on the task at hand.

For ground clearing...

The hook drags up fibrous plants while the blade has enough heft to go through a fair thickness of branch. And light and easy to handle.

For anything bigger, treesaw, biggest you can carry.

Hey - I get to play with one of those Ditch Witches regularly - they're lots of fun. (Not as fun as building trails with an excavator, mind)

However, when we need to clear areas of brush, we get someone swamping with a chainsaw, followed by a BobCat T190 with Brushcat attachment. The chains underneath that baby will tear through almost anything ๐Ÿ˜†

A proper brushcutter with "motorbike handles" and Oregon TechniBlade

That stuff with a powerful enough brush cutter will shred almost anything
