Lock-ons for the win. I like Odi Ruffians (the same pattern is also available from loads of other brands). Fatter grips aren't necessarily more comfortable but may be good if you have bigger than average hands.

I use Intense Lock-Ons. They've got a really nice semi flange

the ODI cross trainers feel great especially without gloves but wear pretty quickly

wors, that is of course the other big benefit of Intense LockOn grips. You can use the words semi and flange regularly.

apparently the cross trainers are good for shock absorbtion too

revenge dakine ganja grips, really comfy with no gloves or fine with gloves, but no lock on means i will probably return to odi ruffians.

Ritchey WCS foam grips, glue em on, lovely.
