What grips for comfy DHing in?
Used to use Race Face Good n Evil back in the day.
Think I want dual ply - what do you use when you're getting pummeled all day long?
odi rogues, oury or race face strafe seem to be the choice for those who like a bigger grip with a bit of give.
I would prefer the oury grips over the rogues, it it wasn't for the bloody knurled bit which ruins them imo. Not tried the strafe, but will be giving them a go next time I buy some new grips.
ESI Chunky are pretty popular.
Odi Yeti are extra soft if you like tacky - like your good n evils
Specialized Enduro, there is no lockon collar on the outside of the grip, so if you are like me and hold the bars with the outside of your hand at the very edge of the bars, ODI lockons bruise my hands after a day of riding, no such problem with the enduro's.
The new Hope ones are seriously sticky!
i like my pdw speed grips
Troy Lee ODI are lovely and soft, great grips.
Raceface Half Nelson current fave, the soft renthals are also ace.
Trying ODI Aaron Gwins for my DH holiday this year, will see how they go.
Funn Combat Waffle - only £9 at crc, as comfy as anything I've had on any bars. I tried a few due to broken hand/wrist and I'm sticking with these while they are available.
What HG said. Have used Troy Lee and now on Half Nelson. Both very good.
Cheers all - I'm sure they're all great but found some Spec Enduro for a fiver so might get them - good right up and look good - just what I'm after - not bothered about lock-ons TBH.
Grips are quite a personal thing so will pop into Evans in Nottm this weekend for a touchy-feely.
These coupled with some new gloves and control/fork tweaking should hopefully banish arm/hand fatigue on multiple long runs 🙂
Spesh Enduro for me too. Rubber all the way to the end rather than a second lock ring makes them more comfy - and also much better when you lean your bike against things, no annoying hard metal bit to slip along alms and get scratched to death.
+1 for hope.
A bit thin though...
