Hi, I’ve lost the plot with what I might be able to watch this year, if anything on freeview. I have no sky etc so will there be any highlight shows this year ITV4/ Quest? Cheers and sorry if it’s already been asked.

As far as I know, it's only the TdF which will be available. See the other thread for details of how to watch other cycling

Well the government has responded to that petition about keeping the TdF free to air. It's a no obviously. Not going to review the list. It's a long and wordy answer, too much for me to bother copying it all.

The main error in it suggests that BC benefits from TV money to invest in social cycling development. That's BS, I suspect even the French national cycling organisation don't get much with the ASO who run it being a private company.

If you have YouTube on your TV I'll recommend the Lantern Rouge channel for race highlights.

Think the Dauphine will be on ITV as well as the Tour for one last year, then that's your lot.

VPN and SBS feed from Australia giving me all the classics so far this year, then there's various European streams for everything else.

"The Ultimate Cycling Show" is on Quest, tbh it's not great. It's mildly entertaining but I want to watch race highlights, not a cycle themed chat show, and the race highlights bit is very minimal - you'd be better chekcing online especially as it doesn;t air till Thursday by which time you've inevtiably seen the results already anyway

As for the Grands Tours, Quest did offer a daily 1 hour Vuelta highlights programme as well as the TdF last year, can't recall if they did Giro (Quest is the free-to-air bit of Discovery hence they have access) but not sure what's happening this year. TdF and Dauphine wil be on itv4 as above, but then that's it

And I've accidentally found TNT now bundled free with my BT broadband ! Didn't used to be, all Discovery Plus 'premium' was to be paid for - must have been to do with the BT/EE merger.

there seem a few channels on YT that post race highlights (although annoyingly some give away the results in the description or thumbnail picture...). TNT themselves often have videos up there

^^

TNT are posting up highlights on YT fairly soon after and although the thumbnail looks like it's giving away the winner, I think it's actually just the pre-race favourite being shown who of course may be the winner but may not...

It’s really sad, my young lads used to like watching the different events with me, mtb, road etc but I certainly don’t have the money to pay so that’s their inspiration gone. If kids never get to see these sports they’ll never want to do them! 😩. I’ll have to try and find a sneaky way to watch, bloody useless with tech though so hopefully it’s easy.

Here’s a thought. You can apparently have two TNT log-ins watching simultaneously, so why not go halves with another STWer?* You only have to pay for a month at a time, so no lengthy contracts, just subscribe for the grand tour months?

* didn’t folks on here do something similar recently with Strava?
