I know that groupsets come in different variations but why do shimano not publish the weights of their groupsets?

I imagine it wuold become complicated adn meaningless given all teh variations.

and published weights usually 'vary' to actual weights, ie, less...

But the easy answer is:

XTR is lightest, then XT, then SLX, etc etc

Wasn't there a thread a few weeks back where someone had weighed like for like XT & SLX components? IIRC the weight difference was naff all, cost difference quite a lot.

B r - I know it goes Xtr- Xt- SLX But I just wanted to know the difference to see if it's worth it

No data on mtb gruppos but road 105 (5700) comes in 169g heavier than Ultegra (6700).
Both identical spec. and excluding hubs.
